This project reimagines a backyard as a contemporary wellness retreat through a simple, refined strategy. Centered on a prefabricated 9-foot stock tank pool, the design integrates a custom wood deck, a natural stone waterfall and concealed pool equipment to create a calm, timeless outdoor environment.
The concept is intentionally built to simplify construction, reducing excavation, shortening installation time and keeping costs down. Where local regulations allow, keeping the deck below the applicable size threshold can also avoid extensive permitting. The result is an elegant, low-maintenance space that balances aesthetics, practicality and long-term value.
Layered planting of ornamental grasses, hanging vines, moss and groundcover softens the stone wall and deck, while integrated deck and landscape lighting extends the space into the evening. The renderings study the retreat across seasons, from summer golden hour to a quiet winter.
